Security Guard — Responsibilities, types and companies
The main duty of a security guard is to protect people or property but his/her duty does not just include basic protection, it can also add other responsibilities. For Example, in case a fire erupts the security guard has to manage and look over the fire hazard on the site. Another duty of security guards is to make sure that the fire extinguishers are not expired or damaged. Security guards also have the duty to clear the corridors or any obstruction so that people can evacuate. Also, it is the duty of a security guard to make sure that all the exit doors are clear and are accessible to people in case there comes a need to evacuate.

In case a security guard is going to arrest an individual, he/she must handcuff the individual.
Security guards are allowed to carry handguns in some states of some countries but not in many countries and states. But in the states where they are allowed to carry guns while on duty, it is only when their job requires it. They get a permit to carry a handgun and that permit indicates if the carried weapon would be concealed or can be visible.
